Our recommended incentive travel destinations for 2016

Posted by Jo Kelly

Incentive travel is set to grow in 2016. Holiday rewards are becoming very popular, partly thanks to their adaptability, and partly because they offer an excellent return on investment.

Travel incentives can be scaled up or down to fit any budget, from a UK-based weekend getaway, to a European city break or a long haul luxury holiday: the variety of options is almost endless.

One step ahead (as usual!) we’ve compiled a list of the top ten destinations for this year, to give you a flavour of the tempting offers you could make to your employees. These amazing holiday destinations have been chosen specifically to add an emotional, experiential value to your travel incentives programme.

Baku – Azerbaijan: Capital Land of Fire

A fascinating blend of East and West, this Eurasian city boasts stunning new skyscrapers alongside ancient 12th century buildings. The Old City is sheltered by fortress walls and makes for a captivating walking tour of historical sites. A taste of Azerbaijan cuisine is also available in a professional cooking class, and the not-to-be-missed experience of a therapeutic crude oil bath in Naftalan.

Cape Town, South Africa

A long-standing favourite, Cape Town’s beautiful scenery, vibrant city life and breathtaking view of Table Mountain are ever-popular. This city boats the Stellenbosch wine region and an array of leisure activities in Camps Bay including shark cage diving, abseiling, windsurfing, whale watching, snorkelling or shopping.

Copenhagen

Copenhagen’s Scandinavian charm centres around traditional neighbourhoods with small, narrow streets and crooked houses, plus countless shopping streets, cosy cafes, restaurants, canals and a contemporary waterfront. Numerous activities are available, from wakeboarding to authentic Nordic cooking classes, and exciting evening of entertainment at the Music Box.

Croatia

Croatia’s beautiful coastline is surrounded by over a thousand islands. Medieval attractions of historical interest can be found inland, such as Dubrovnic’s Old Town and Zagreb’s Gornji Grad, while island-hopping provides fantastic nightlife with nightclubs, beach parties and festivals taking place overlooking the crystal clear sea.
