Corporate Rewards strike gold for investment in people

Posted by David Gould

Twelve months on from achieving Investors in People Standard accreditation we have risen to new heights with an elevation to Gold Status. This internationally recognised standard for best practice in people management demonstrates that we are an excellent employer and an outstanding place to work. Only 3% of the UK companies awarded Investors in People status achieve Gold standard, and we passed with distinction.

Having achieved standard accreditation in 2015, we have worked hard to enhance its commitment to employees throughout 2016. Investments in leadership and training, alongside growth and development of the company, plus relocation to sleek new offices have all contributed to this step up.

Investors in People Gold is only awarded to businesses able to demonstrate best practice in actively leading and supporting employees and helping them to improve and succeed. Accreditation is underpinned by a rigorous evaluation process involving face-to-face assessments and interviews across all levels of the business, from an experienced Investors in People practitioner.

We were found to have made improvements to progression, leadership, collaboration, structure and work/life balance. Staff acknowledged these improvements and demonstrated confidence in the business and a ‘tangible excitement’. The assessor also observed that the company has exceeded growth plans for 2015/16, practices a collaborative, inspirational and supportive leadership style and is committed to ongoing improvement. With consistent and powerful use of corporate values, we practice what we preach with a strong internal reward and recognition structure in place.

We demonstrated that we are meeting 150 evidence requirements from the extended framework. This significantly exceeds the minimum (126) required for Gold accreditation and indicated strength and innovation in a number of areas which would be considered to be high performing within the new 6th generation of the Investors in People standard.

David Gould, Managing Director at Corporate Rewards, said “This tops off a successful year for Corporate Rewards and we are over the moon to have been awarded Gold Status by Investors in People. It is incredibly rewarding to see our people-focused approach and dedication to a positive working environment recognised in this way. Given that we provide staff recognition programmes for our customers, we hope this proves how passionately we believe in it ourselves and how integral it is to our business.”

The assessor commented that the culture within Corporate Rewards is open, honest and flexible with a genuine sense of people. Our employees stated they are extremely proud to work for the business and would recommend to others for employment.

Additional proof-points that helped us to achieve its Gold Status include the introduction of flexible working hours, enhanced maternity pay, enhanced employer pensions contributions, and a coaching and mentoring programme.

With this in mind, Corporate Rewards has shown that they are a truly outstanding place to work.
