Corporate hospitality at a film premiere

Posted by Jo Kelly

If you’ve got any film fans on your team, a great idea for an incentive trip is to provide those members of staff with a taste of the glitz and glamour of a film premier.

We’ve highlighted some of the things you could offer as part of this event, helping to give your staff a magical night out at the cinema.

Pampering in preparation

Film premiers are famous for being glamorous affairs, so giving your staff the opportunity to be pampered before the big night is a great way to help them get ready.

In larger rewards, you could offer spa treatments to help people relax, or even a personal shopping experience to give you team some professional help for finding the right outfit to wow on the red carpet.

The last bit of pampering prior to the premier is how your team get there. You could provide taxis, or, to help them really feel like they are getting the movie star treatment, provide a limo to take them from wherever they’ve got ready, such as a nearby hotel, to the premier.

Red carpet reception

The most iconic part of any film premier is the chance to walk the red carpet. Stars stop to talk to the press, take selfies and sign autographs, and your staff can be in the middle of this as they head into the cinema.

A premiere tends to have more ceremony and pageantry to it than a regular trip to the cinema. There’s potentially speeches and introductions to films,  and chances to hear famous actors, directors and producers talk about the film they’ve created before you get to see it before the general public.

This is a great chance to let your staff feel truly special — going to an exclusive screening of a film flanked by celebrities while hundreds of screaming fans wait outside is sure to create a memorable experience.

Meet and greet

Part of the reward you offer staff could be access to a meet and greet with the stars of the film they are going to see.

This is an opportunity to meet their favourite actors and directors. Their meet and greet could be a few minutes to chat with their favourite stars, get a picture or an autograph. This is a lot more intimate than trying to catch a glimpse or maybe a selfie with a celebrity on the red carpet and just adds to the air of exclusivity and VIP treatment that goes hand in hand with being at a film premier.

The after party

Once the credits have rolled, that doesn’t mean the night has come to an end. You might want to whisk your team away to an after party at a trendy cocktail bar, or to enjoy a meal to cap off the evening.

The key here is to maintain that sense of VIP treatment. For example, going to a bar that provides something a little out of the ordinary, like access to the VIP section or a personal waiter service to help staff continue to feel pampered.

If you are taking staff for a meal, take them to somewhere that fits with the event they’ve been to, again maintaining that sense of glitz and glamour.

Film premiers often take place in bigger cities and iconic locations, such as Leicester Square in London or Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. You might be able to take advantage of this to tie the premier into a larger incentive travel reward, such as a city break to the capital or tip to America’s West Coast.

Helping you make the most from a night at the cinema

Providing a complete event, giving staff a taste of the high life and making them feel truly special can work wonders for productivity and motivation. Plus, providing something this memorable, and associated with your brand, can build a lasting sense of loyalty to your business. This would in turn help to reduce staff turnover and encourage your teams to strive to be involved in future rewards.
